General Shower Enclosure Care and Maintenance Guidelines
MAINTAINING YOUR TUB OR SHOWER ENCLOSURE…
- For the best results, your enclosure should be cleaned with a squeegee or clean dry cloth after use.
- Make sure your shower is properly ventilated, especially true for steam units to release the humidity from the enclosure.
- Keep the surface clean of any kind of material attachments or contaminants, such as dust, particles, dirty liquid, finger prints or stains.
ABRASIVE CLEANER WARNING
- Do not use abrasive or acid-based cleaners when cleaning your shower enclosure. There are some powerful cleaners on the market today. Abrasive or acid-based cleaners can scar the metal or glass of your Shower Enclosure. It probably wouldn’t happen with a single application, but it’s best to use appropriate types of cleaners all the time.
HARD WATER MAINTENANCE
In hard water areas, or areas where water drops dry and leave a noticeable dust mark, a build-up of minerals may occur on the protective treatment. While these may not be removed easily with the mild detergent, mild acids will often remove the marks quickly. As needed white vinegar should be used to wipe down the glass with a soft sponge. Keep in mind the vinegar may be diluted, however dilution reduces the effectiveness.
Prohibited Products
*Note these may damage the treatment and void any warranty
- Avoid the use of any harsh or chemical cleaners, with correct maintenance these are never required
- Avoid the use of any abrasives or polishes including Water Spot Removers, Toothpaste, Polishes, Rough, or Gritty substances
- Avoid the use of Acids of Alkalis that you would not want in contact with your skin for an extended period of time
Approved Cleaning Products
The below have been tested for compatibility with glass surface protection products, however there are no specific products that must be used. We feel you should not be required to purchase extra products in order to keep your glass clean. All you should need for beyond 10 years is a squeegee, a mild liquid dish soap like your dish washing liquid, and white vinegar.
Any product that does not fall into the three prohibited categories outlined above will be fine, and below is a short list of other acceptable products:
- Windex (Standard, Vinegar, Alcohol, Ammonia)
- SprayWay (or other alcohol-based foaming cleaners)
- Scrubbing Bubbles (or other automatic leave-to-dry daily shower cleaners)
- 7th Generation (or other mild Green cleaners)
- Vinegar or Citric acid (undiluted is fine), Alcohols, Ammonias, Solvents, or CLR
Protective Coated Glass – Care & Warranty Registration info
For use with “coated” product offerings (ClearShield, C-10 & Diamon Fusion).
After each use simply drying with a squeegee or towel will keep the glass clean for a long period, and make it difficult for mineral spots to form. The glass needs to be cleaned every few weeks using a damp microfiber cloth and a mild detergent (such as Dawn or 7th Generation) to break down soaps, oils, and conditioners from the glass. General glass cleaners are also suitable, however most of these are finishing agents rather than cleaners, and are an added expense that is not required.

Stainless Steel Enclosures Care and Maintenance
To keep the stainless steel of your enclosure looking great for years to come, we recommend the following procedures:
- Wipe any water off the Stainless metal with a clean dry cloth after each shower.
- Make sure your shower is properly ventilated, especially true for steamer units to release the humidity from the enclosure.
- Keep the surface clean of any kind of material attachments or contaminants, such as dust, particles, dirty liquid, finger prints or stains.
- Use soft clean cloth, bristle brush or sponge and a neutral/mild cleaning liquid or warm soft water to clean the surface for attachments that are easy to clean.
- Clean rust spots caused by attachments on the surface using grinding detergent or detergent specially for cleaning stainless steel.
- Be careful not to scratch the surface during cleaning. Do not use cleaning mixture containing bleaching ingredients/chlorine.
- Do not use steel wool or an abrasive tool.
- Always rinse the surface well with soft clean warm water after cleaning using detergent and wipe dry.
